Azure Virtual Desktop Watermarking Support
Watermarking printed documents and PDFs is a common practice to keep them from being copied. Now you can also watermark digital screen views and screen shots with the new Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Watermarking feature.
Watermarking is an optional protection feature to Screen Capture in Virtual Desktop. Read how to access support for the Watermarking feature in this article.
What is Watermarking in Azure Virtual Desktop?
Watermarking in Azure Virtual Desktop is an optional feature designed to enhance screen capture protection. It serves as a deterrent against data leakage by displaying QR codes on the session desktop. These QR codes embed the session user's Activity ID, which helps enterprises trace potential data leaks.
How does Watermarking support data security?
Watermarking complements the existing screen capture protection by preventing sensitive information from being captured and shared on client endpoints. The QR codes displayed act as a traceable element, allowing administrators to identify the source of any potential data leaks.
What are the requirements for using Watermarking?
Currently, watermarking support is available only on the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client for desktops and the web. It must be configured at the session-host level and enforced on the client. Additionally, administrators can adjust the opacity and granularity of the displayed QR codes.
